It's been almost 2 years since I started learning how to code and this whole time I've been logging stuff to the console to check for errors. Why? All I can say is, ignorance is bliss.

The main reason I started striving to break into tech is because of the "constantly improving" mindset it fosters. "There's always a better way" is practically a mantra for me. Saying all that and I never once tried to understand how a debugger worked for any IDE until last week. My instructor at my current bootcamp is VEHEMENTLY against logging stuff to the console as a form of bug hunting. With the patience of a saint, he showed us all repeatedly how to set up the configuration in VSC.

Now? It's beautiful. My instructor will ask if anyone has a problem and if someone does (myself included), they'll speak up, but then just say, "actually, I'm going to run the debugger first". Watching that debugger run line by line feels like reading the Matrix. It's like when Neo started to believe. I look back at these last two years absolutely flummoxed on how I got by with just console logs....
